01 · Innovation

Product innovation across four generations

Since shipping our first shift-register chip in 2007, PowerMOS has accumulated end-to-end experience in control systems, graphics production and string manufacturing, building a sustained capacity to independently develop innovative protocols and system conversions.

Gen 1 · 2015

9860 / 9861 / 9862: the first PLC full-pixel chips

The first generation validated string-production process and market acceptance, and produced the improvement ideas that shaped the second generation.

Gen 2 · 2016–2017

9863 / 9871: camera addressing and dual-fuse architecture

Introduced the metal-fuse + poly-fuse address modes and camera-addressing technology, paving the way for automated production.

Gen 3 · 2017–2018

9864 series: industry-first automated poly-fuse burning

The first to solve — and volume-produce — in-line address writing on automated string-assembly machines. This was the watershed that moved the industry from manual bead sorting to automated addressing.

Gen 4 · 2019–2020

9865 / 9866 / 9867 / 9873–9875: full-line depth

Reliability hardening and product-line expansion advanced in parallel: four-channel RGBW output, fixed-code series and parallel-application series were validated and launched in turn, making PowerMOS the supplier with the broadest coverage and the leading quality stability in the field.

Next gen · in development

A new edge-measurement protocol

The low-level timing decode used for years is limited by wire parasitics that cap refresh rate and total bead count. A next-generation edge-measurement protocol and address-free control scheme have reached engineering samples and are in application validation — with the goal of locking in a technology lead for the next five years.

The only single-source, end-to-end solution supplier

Traditional small driver-IC design houses focus on hardware and outsource control-system development, making it hard to meet customers' custom needs quickly. Since 2008, PowerMOS has invested in developing its own master controllers and host-software editing systems in-house — making it the only integrated solution supplier that develops the entire chain — chip architecture, protocol, production addressing and driver control system — in-house among comparable products on the market today.

A protective net of ten patents

PowerMOS filed US and EU patents in parallel from the very start of its PLC product line: our own camera-addressing and in-line bead-replacement patents, plus multiple formally licensed key PLC patents — from controller methods and address-burning to bead structure — form tight protection from principle to physical product.

Leading process and cost structure

The current 0.35µm process is already the most cost-optimized design among comparable products, and continues to advance toward 0.18µm; laser trimming and poly-fuse addressing were both industry firsts, and the optimal balance of production technology underpins our price advantage for years to come.

05 · Quality

200 PPM and 100M+ shipped

By holding firm on bead-production requirements and a rigorous QC process, we keep the outgoing bead defect rate around 200 PPM; a steady track record of 100M+ cumulative shipments is the most important calling card PowerMOS has.

Market track record PowerMOS works closely with leading international smart-light-string brands, and its product line has entered mainstream US and European retail channels — merging communication, display and music into a modern technology product expressed through changing light, leading the wave of a new generation of pixel-controlled decorative lighting.
